| Emberfaye | Oct 9, 2007 6:27am | | I am an American and I am looking to relocate to Ireland to go to grad school. The grad schools I have seen thus far are amazing, however it is not just the cost of tuition it is the cost of housing as well. Has anyone here successfully done this? Help! thanks! :) Also I have thought about getting CELTA certified as well in Ireland but the same problem arises, housing costs with lack of scholarships. If you have successfully done any of this or have advice, please email me here thanks so much! |

The city is less expensive than Dublin but transport is a problem if you're thinking of cheap accommodation outside the city! Car parking is at a premium but there is a reasonable local bus service. Furthermore, Cork city is the gateway to Ireland's most glorious countryside in West Cork - you're welcome to visit my site and see the pictures here:

You're also most welcome to ask me anything about the uni or city.

| Sponsor | Merino-Teflon | Feb 13, 6:58pm | Hey people, new here, but here for a reason, I was raised as a young 'un, many years ago, in Dublin, and have, more recently, lived for near a year in Co.Kerry.
Coming back to Ireland (from Oz), primarily to see my mother, and grandmother, in Cork, as I haven't seen them in over six years, but may be hanging around.
Now, Dublin was all a bit too glam and expensive, even 10 years ago, the last time I was there, so if I am staying, I was thinking Cork or Galway (cities).
Any arguments for or against either?
A bonus of Galway for me would be that whilst not on the other side of the planet, at least it wouldn't be on my mothers and grandmothers doorstep!
Love 'em, but even at the age of 36, a little distance is good for the promotion of fondness. They are mad Irish women after all ;) |
